Gypsy Fair

For the first time ever we visited the gypsy fair as it was in town this weekend. It is an event that use to be quite popular but over the years the products that are being old seem to get more and more expensive. It was cloudy, overcast and chilly but before we left the sun came out and it warmed up. Not my thing but it was good to get out. After about half and hour we had enough and left.

Linking up with Through my lensTuesday TreasuresMy corner of the world and Wordless Wednesday.

It is good to see the Original Gypsy Fair carrying on..but I think that there was another change of lead in the organisation.
I am looking forward to meeting some of them next time we manage to visit

I haven't seen a gypsy fair for years, I guess they don't come this way as they travel around. You got a great selection of photos.

A good place for them to display their art and craft.

Surely this must draw quite a crowd.

Interesting -- I kind of like visiting an outdoor flea market sometimes and this looks like one of those, so I am wondering if those are both names for the same thing (ha ha English can sometimes be a foreign language)! So are they really people who live and travel together and call themselves gypsies or is it just a name for a craft/second hand fair? Either way, I'd be like you, good excuse to get out, but probably I wouldn't buy anything.

I've never been to a gypsy fair. I would be interested to have a look round but probably wouldn't buy anything.

One of them dream catchers would be nice. I have dreams so weird.

Probably well attended for a provincial town on South Island west coast - I can't imagine how crowded it would have looked over here; but then the word 'gypsy' stokes up all sorts of prejudices here and it might have been boycotted....
