Old Napier Cemetery in Hawkes Bay is literally one of my favourite places. So quiet, beautiful and peaceful. Some of my Scottish ancestors on my mothers side - the Dunlop clan are resting here.

Photo taken in Autumn about 5 years ago. |
Napier - Wharerangi Cemetery. Opened in 1948 and is mostly dedicated to returned servicemen and women who played a part in the 1st and 2nd world wars. B and I visited here about 5 years ago to pay respects to his grandmother and her husband. This is not the entire cemetery, it's only a small part of it.

I was going through some old photos and realized I hadn't posted these ones from before we moved to Greymouth when we came down here for a week to check out the town. These are from a bush walk named Wood's Creek that use to be a popular gold mining area which opened in 1865 during the gold rush era. There are still remains of tunnels that were dug out and the occasional piece of mining equipment. So enjoy these photos, I don't really think each one needs a caption.

Photo taken near the beach access to Hokitika Beach. |
This morning my daughter R and I drove down to Hokitika to do some op shopping, While we were there we met up with one of my cousins for coffee and brunch. It's nearly Winter here but it was quite mild temperature wise and the sun was just starting to get out so it felt quite warm.

Photos taken at the edge of the town square in Greymouth with the Left Bank Art Gallery in the building on the left.
And this one of the main road through the square which leads into the rest of town. Some nice colours around at the moment...

Photo taken at one of my favourite cafes in town. I meet up with friends usually on Wednesdays every 2 to 3 weeks to catch up with them. This is a popular place with good food and nice staff. Most cafes here have small sachets of sugar on the tables for people to use.

One of my impromptu photos taken in town outside the railway station which picks up and drops off passengers from the Tranz Alpine, the Speights restaurant is across the road.
So, our new neighbour has moved into the house next door which was for sale and he's been tidying up the backyard including pruning trees. Perfecting timing really since it's Autumn. He asked me if I wanted the 3 rose bushes in the backyard otherwise he would be throwing them out so B and I went over there and dug them out. They look like they have been there for a few years so I replanted them against one of the fences in the full sun and gave them a good pruning. Hopefully they will flower nicely come Spring.

I took this photo across the road from where an old quarry use to be opposite the Grey River. These 2 have to be tourists as I don't that locals would be biking through this area for obvious reasons.

This photo above is taken looking down my street and the rest are photos taken here and there between Ngahere and Stillwater.

On Sunday we enjoyed a balmy Autumn day so we took Bug (my daughter's dog) out for a big walk to one of the local beaches in Greymouth - this nature was is dog friendly and circles around the Cobden Lagoon. So the photos below are a mix of the beach, the bush path, black swans, a fishing boat on it's way back to the wharf and the view across the water to town. This is largely a wetlands area.

For the last few weeks we've been very lucky on the West Coast to have had lovely sunny Spring weather. Now for the next week or so we...
