Time for Spring Daffodils

On the way home from work, yes again...I stopped by a nearby park because the scene of mass plantings of daffodils caught my eye. I just love the late afternoon/early evening sun reflecting over the yellow leaves :-)

Magnolias and Spring sunsets in Tauranga...

Days are getting longer here, mornings are becomming lighter - guess Spring is here and I couldn't be happier. On the way home last night I spotted this pretty tree covered in Magnolia flowers on the corner of the road opposite the supermarket.

The flowers close up are so lovely - nothing better than these to cheer us up as a reminder that warmer weather and brighter colours are on the way...

Rear vision reflections of a busy week

After a busy week of which my eyeballs are literally fried and my brain is now inactive I've been relaxing by going through more of my photos from last weekend and found this odd one. I must've been experimenting with different settings in my camera along the main highway just past Levin.

Unfortunately I do remember it wasn't a very interesting drive at this point, just miles and miles of flat farmland. Sure was nice to be home again, I do hope you've had a good week too :-)

Wellington Wharf - Overcast reflections in black and white

I couldn't resist taking this snapshot of a section of Wellington Wharf on Friday afternoon, this was at the beginning of our trip to Nelson. The Interislander Ferry normally docks around the corner here and shortly after this image was clicked some workmen came along and started working on some of the piers. Such an overcast mild Winter's day but I really liked in particular the reflection on the water, so calm and quiet :-)

Stunning Picton Wharf on a late winter's day

Last Friday morning we were on a mission to drive to Nelson in the South Island of New Zealand. From where we are it is a 6 1/2 hour drive to Wellington, then another 2 hours on the Interislander ferry then another 2 hours to our destination.

After a busy weekend while on the ferry back to Wellington this is the sight we saw of Picton - I think it's a perfect example of how stunning our scenery here is.
