X marks the spot

This is another one from a year ago of the surburb "Devonport" on Auckland's north shore. 2 weeks ago I posted about the restaurant "Vondel" which is at the bottom of this main road into town. There is an old theatre up the top of the road, not sure if it still gets used or not but most the street is full of old buildings from when the town was first populated. When I was in my early 20s I worked in this town as a legal typist for lawyers and I use to spend my lunchtimes browsing the shops.

Linking up with Weekend Reflections, Lydia's Favourite Fotos and the Weekend Roundup.

Gentle reminder that #Favouritefotos is for post 2 or more years old, (#Allseasons is for any post with something 'seasonal' and #Xmaslinky is for Christmas themed posts.)

I didn't get to Devonport. I am keen to get back to NZ and explore a bit more. I had such a great time but with only a full day, it was hard to limit what to see!

The view must bring back lots of memories for you.

A revisit to a place where you lived must have been interesting.

Love to see a downtown with lots of shops. Many of the smaller towns here have empty storefronts dating from when Walmart built in the outskirts of smaller towns putting everybody else out of business.

...this looks like a busy street.

I worked in Davenport hospital few years ago. The town is rather quiet.

Nice street capture.

Devon port looms as though it still has a nice 'town' feel about it despite being just over the water from Auckland.
