Cleaning

Does anyone need dry cleaning anymore? I know it use to be done alot but these days it's like the businesses that once did this seem to be few and far between.  So are men's clothing shops with personalised names. They've been taken over by department stores and malls. It's a shame, because sometimes you don't always get the personalised service that we use to.

Linking up with Weekend Reflections and the Weekend Roundup.

We used to have 2 Drycleaners. They've both closed. No one irons anymore and they certainly don't use Drycleaners.

I'd not really thought about it until I read your post. When I was working I regularly needed items to be dry cleaned. Since retiring I never wear suits so there is no need. Nor do I have to iron so much.

Funny - we were talking about this yesterday! My mother used to have carbon tetrachloride that she used, and when they banned it she always said it was because the drycleaners wanted more work! Both seem to have disappeared now, although there are still a couple of drycleaning shops around the place. Last time I used one was to have a woollen blanket cleaned, and that was quite a while ago.

Most people are avoiding material that has to be dry cleaned because of the toxicity..to the environment and to us!
Consequently less work for the dry cleaners
