White Heron Tours

While we were driving to Franz Josef last week we walked around the main street in the small town of Whataroa. This is a tour group which takes people out to the nearby sanctuary which has White Heron birds, I imagine it would be popular with tourists.

Linking up with Skywatch Friday and Tom's Signs.

I love the white herons. There is a colony at the Pupu Springs in Takaka too. https://www.doc.govt.nz/parks-and-recreation/places-to-go/nelson-tasman/places/takaka-area/te-waikoropupu-springs/?tab-id=50578

Beautiful birds. Fun to watch them fish!

That's nice. I wonder if there's a place to see the birds without paying for a tour? If there's a sanctuary, I'd think the birds would be there to see.

I'd like to visit here one day. We've usually just driven on past the turn off. One day maybe I'll get back for a leisurely holiday :)
