I have an admiration for old doors - the more historical they are, the more creative they seem to be. These two I spotted in Westport last week.
The one on the left above is the entranceway to the tower at Bastion Point and the one on the right belongs to the historical Star Hotel in Kawakawa.

These doors are looking very nice
I've never really thought about it before, but you are so right - historical doors are so much more interesting than modern doors!
I too like old stuff, this second one has 'character', I also like old houses, perhaps because as a boy I used to play in a very large old house on the hill next over from ours. Not sure how I got in, but I could whenever I wanted.
..
The first one is my fav! Yes, modern doors are plan boring. Safe, but boring. Ours at least comes in a (sadly dark) red.
...I LOVE DOORS and you found some beautiful ones, Thanks for sharing.
Nice collection of doors.
Some lovely old doors. The church entrance is grand
Nice finds. Doors can be very interesting.
Old doors are like portals to a bygone era.
Love the photos.
Happy Sunday, Amy!
I love the second one. here is something about old, paint-peeling, wooden doors that suggests stepping into the past.
