Just outside of Auckland and Orewa is this little seaside town of Waiwera. Once upon a time there use to be the thermal resort which has now been demolished. This little church is right next to the beach. Christ Church was built in 1914 as a private chapel by Major John Whitney and then gifted to the Auckland Anglican Diocese in 1915. It is still being used today with regular services being held.

It is a lovely looking cottage
A cute little church.
I don't suppose you can fit many worshippers in there.
...this is a sweet little church!
What a wonderful little church. So pictiresque
Thank you for sharing. Aloha
Clearly private chapel originally. Crikey its small - nearly as small as the one person at a time Grrek church that is close to where we used to live. Some people had big weddings there 9followed by christenings of course. Guests had to sit outside on the rocky beach.
So pretty!
That's a cool little church.
Such a charming little church!
Hugs and blessings, Amy
