Another one from our visit to Reefton in early Autumn this year. Built in 1872 it was used during the gold rush to settle disputes, leases and miners rights. It was designed by William Henry Clayton who also was responsible for other court houses around New Zealand. It finally closed in 1972 and now court cases are heard in either Greymouth or Westport. It is now listed as a Historic Place Category 1 building.
Linking up with Blue Monday and Mosaic Monday.

It's the middle of my night and I'm wide awake because my system is out of synch after my travels. I've just been going back through your posts and getting a lot of pleasure seeing new places and re-visiting some where I have been. Thank you.
F loves Reefton (that whole area of The Coast) the original character of the places still shines through.
Nice house. Is it a museum now?
It has that vintage facade cute and well presented.
It has character.
A great classic wooden building
...some old schools here have a similar style.
Beautiful house and still looking great for its age.
I see 2 entrances one for the public and one for staff. The detainees certainly came in the back. Nice little courthouse.
What a neat find!
It looks like a story-book house!
How quaint!
Hugs and blessings, Amy
A very nice building. And of course we are near by New Zealand now when the WM is there...
...thank you for sharing and being part at
MosaicMonday.
