There is an industrial area just up the road from us about 5 minutes away and they have a cheap off the road self serve small petrol station where the gas is a bit cheaper than in town. While I was waiting for B to fill up my car I spotted this stormy sky across the road, we did get showers later on in the day but it's mostly been cold dry sunny days.

That is a lowering sky! Definitely looks threatening...to rain
Quite a sky to look at
Since the seawater is getting warmer we are going to experience something more in terms of wind. Whether it makes any difference being on the other side of the world, I don't know but let's hope for the best.
...the clouds give interest to the sky!
I saw a description in a book once that stayed in my head about "purple fat clouds". It seemed an odd expression - we would probably say "fat purple clouds" - I wonder why that would be? Putting it hte other way round definitely made it a memorable description of a sky that I could imagine is like the one you have photographed.
Very moody skies.
Our skies usually look like that but today, clear and cloudless. :)
It looks very threatening.
Just a bit threatening. I'm always on the lookout for cheaper gas!
That is a wintery sky - thanks for joining #Allseasons
Storm coming in- we are watching the same here.
Proverbial lull before the storm.
I ❤️ your new header image! 👍👍
A little rain is a good thing. We could use some here.
