100%

So just like this store in Greymouth's central town life is 100% good at the moment. We ended up biting the bullet and buying a clothes dryer only for those moments when we can't get something dry that we need quickly otherwise our electricity bill is going to go up and up. I also got approved for a mortgage which is great news. B is too old to apply as he is 58 years old and most banks have an age cutoff but because I am 7 years younger than him banks look at me more positively. So my 12 years of saving madly a deposit has paid off. We are going to start looking for our own house shortly.

Sounds like you've found the place you like, now I hope you find the house you like

I am surprised that the cutoff is so young!
All the best with the house hunt.

With clothes drying, we use a dehumidifier in the kitchen, clothes on a rack by and above it..works well even without the small radiator by it being used

Oh wow, Amy, that is awesome news. I hope you manage to find something you really love and the purchase goes through without any hassles.

Good lucky with the house. It takes a few years but the best part of buying the house is when you pay off the mortgage.

...GREAT news!

Good luck with your house-hunting. I love watching (esp. British) house-hunting shows on TV even though I am quite satisfied with living in a rented flat myself (knowing that taking care of a house would be too much for me to cope with).

Congrats on qualifying. I've never heard of an age cut-off for qualifying for a loan. Sounds like age discrimination.

Good luck on your house. I had never heard of an age cutoff but I guess different countries have different customs and rules. I've known people here in their 80's who got a 30 year mortgage.

Nice street scene. Good luck finding that house.

Yes, best wishes on your house hunting! I didn't realize there is a cut off for loans. I wonder if there's one out here.

That sounds like good news!
Crazy, though with the age. Same problem here. A year ago we could´ve applied for Australia still, but Ingo is 7 1/2 years older than me and boom, that was it.
Good luck with the house hunting!

Good luck finding the home to purchase. Tip: A bathroom for each bedroom. LOL! Cut off for loans sounds like age discrimination. Town looks financially secure for now.

Congratulations and we hope you find your perfect home. Who knows we might be looking around that part of the island a year or so from now.

Have fun with the looking! But I have *never* heard of an age cut-off. But you got it, and a dryer, too! I'm looking forward to seeing what happens.
