Kiwi!

There are quite a few murals around Greymouth, this little one that has been painted onto a utility box features New Zealand's national bird the Kiwi. In case you didn't know Kiwi are flightless and are nocturnal so you may hear them in the countryside or small towns calling out to each other at night.

Linking up with Mural Monday

...a wonderful national bird!

It is a very lucky person these days who lives where they hear kiwi calling. We love them so much you'd think we could do more to build their population.

(Crunched up praying mantis sounds really horrible. We had a cat once that used to catch flies and carry them around in his mouth enjoying the buzzing. Also yuck.)

Good for Greymouth. Murals are so much more pleasing to the eye than a grey box or wall

How nice to have your national bird as a Kiwi. It's really cute and healthy looking.

It must be amazing to see a real kiwi bird. Lovely to see them painted on an electric box. Thanks for participating in Monday Murals Amy.

Cute one(s). I have one right here, made by... a Kiwi, his name is Nick. What ever made him move to Germany is beyond my imagination!

They are such a cute bird and of course iconic! I would love to see a live one and I would also like it if somebody would make art on the utility boxes in our neighborhood!!
