One from Taupo this week. Reid's carving is located on the corner of Tongariro Street and Ferry Road. It was installed in 1961 and carved by Tene Waitere - over the years it has been refurbished every now and again but in 2014 it was repaired to a great standard thanks to the wear and tear along with weather elements that had battered it. As you can see B is standing underneath it posing - I like to put him next to sculptures sometimes just to see him roll his eyes each time I ask.

I was last looking at that view in 2016. It seems so long ago and so far away.
It's great tho!! Eyes rolled or not! Ha! #ThruMyLens
That's a great carving.
Beautiful carving!
That carving is a stunner!
Happy Tuesday, Amy!
That's beautiful. I've been to Taupo.
Modelling for the next one?!
Beautiful work
...the craviing are similar to those I have seen in Maui. Thanks Amy for sharing.
That's a great archway . I can imagine B rolling his eyes. K would be doing just the same.
Tell him he's very photogenic and we expect to see more of him lol
Great carving. Our hubbies have to endure a lot, huh? ;-)
And they do, yippeee...
Lovely archway sculpture. I have a lot of pictures of Bill walking ahead of me. Not at all because that's his best side, but because it is a lot less hassle than trying to get him to pose on purpose ;>)
