Winning Fish Shop

I was over in Kaikohe yesterday for a look around, although we have driven through this town many times I've never actually stopped so while I took quite a few street photos this one stands out to me because the sign for the barber's shop was right next door to a sign that says "fresh smoked fish" - 2 very different things.

Linking up with Weekend Reflections and The Weekend Roundup.

I'd have no use for either establishment, as I don't like seafood and I shave my head.

Two very different signs Amy.. the traditional barber shop colours against the gorgeous blues of the winning fish shop, both liven up the street scene.. lovely blue chairs outside the shop 🐟

...fish and chip is a term that is not used here, we have a Friday Fish Fry which I believe is similar. Thanks Amy, take care and enjoy your weekend.

LOVE fish!!! Husband shaves his head but I would kill for a haircut! We've been locked down since end November.

Nice street view. I love smoked fish especially salmon.

There is quite a lot to see int his photo! I love shrimp (or is that some other sea creature) on the tiles below the window. And that painted scroll-like work above the window on on the canopy is interesting. And there is even a pretty little table and chairs in case you get some smoked fish and decide to eat it right away. I don't know about the fish shop but your photo is certainly a winner.

You don't see small town streets with stores like that here in the states any longer.

I like NZ, we started in Auckland and cruised down and over to the west edge before heading to Tasmania, Aus. We did take the little ferry over to Devonport before leaving and climbed the hill named Mount Victoria. We may have been able to see Kaikohe from there if we knew what to look for.

I noticed the sign reflected in the window "Pizza Place & Indian takeaway". Also two very different things. :-)
