Another mural we spotted in Paihia - this one on the side of a bar/restaurant painted by an artist named Steve Downs who is a Hollywood/Mexican/Irish abstract impressionist and honeybee preservationist.
He is also the founder of Beecasso Live Bee Removal Inc who focuses on a chemical free humane approach to bee removal. He began producing art and music events under his trademark Beecasso in 2014.
Linking up with Mural Monday.

nice murals.
Re your question on plants: they are 4 kinds of Hoya. If you think of the feathery one to the right it is no plant. It is a souvenier from Hawaii. :)
thanks for that, I thought it was a Hoya, I have 2 in my garden.
Nice mural. Have a great new week.
...this one sure is colorful. His website is a color explosion, thanks for sharing.
Steve Downs sounds like an interesting guy, certainly a talented artist.
Nice one, also the idea to have a restaurant in there - I would go :-)
The graphics alone are incredible, but the colors are mesmerizing.
A multi-talented artist and bee keeper too. Lovely and colourful mural, thanks for contributing to Monday Murals Amy.
I like this a lot. I do love a good abstract!
Hollywood/Mexican/Irish makes an interesting background!
Tigger likes the idea of honeybee preservation, and F likes the subtle colour in the mural.
Anyone and anything which helps the bee population is to be welcomed. My thoughts are mixed on the mural.
I have to agree with you Graham, I saw only a small portion of the mural relating to bees, I wasn't quite sure what to think of it.
