This week we are meant to be up to 29 to 30 degrees celsius, that's boiling hot for us kiwis. I snapped this photo at work over the weekend, it's good to see both lots of Monarch butterflies and bumble bees enjoying the flowers.
So we thought that we were doing well here but yesterday we got news that there was 1 case of Covid with the new South African variety who had tested positive in the Northland community. Northland for us is about 1-2 hours away in another region, we are classed as being far north here so although the authorities have gotten onto it very very quickly it's good to know that the person used their phone to scan into every single place they visited which helped immensely to track and trace where they had been.
Hopefully it's kicked people into gear to scan their phone apps everywhere they go.

I am so glad your country is taking the virus seriously. Our son just got out of his two week quarantine after testing positive. My wife and I tested negative but still isolated. My brother got it several months ago and was fine.
My wife had a friend who had a husband who although in his 60's was in very good physical shape and took the virus seriously. He tested positive last Monday and died last Friday. It is heartening to hear of people taking this thing seriously.
I'm getting my first vaccine tomorrow and am looking forward to it.

I agree with Sallie - NZ has done a stellar job in the handling of Covid-19. Sadly, I can't say it's the same over here - our numbers are rising at an alarming rate.
I would enjoy some hot weather right now, we have been very cold here. Your butterfly, bee and flowers are beautiful. I have heard of the tracking with the phones, it is a great idea. I hope you take care and stay safe! Have a happy new week!
I do love bumblebees, oh and butterflies
