Mondays for B and I is usually our Sunday. He works Tuesday until Saturday and I work Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays so Monday is the only day we both have together. We drove out to Paihia after looking online for somewhere to enjoy lunch and right on the waterfront at the wharf we found it.
The CBK Craft Bar and Kitchen restaurant had a good looking menu so we chose a small table overlooking the water. He ordered cheeseburger and chips which came out looking huge and in the end he couldn't finish it, I chose an asian ginger style slaw which was delicious. After forgetting to scan my Covid app I had to find the barcode on their front door as we went out.
There is a big push here for people not to be complacent with scanning themselves in when they visit businesses and unfortunately only 25% seem to be doing it. Hardly anyone does it anymore since we don't have any cases out in the community. The way I see it is all it needs is one to sneak through and then we are back into lockdown, I would prefer to be notified via my phone app that I've been somewhere where a positive case has been so that I can self isolate.
How are things where you are? Do you have to scan as well or make a note of where you have been?

The virus is raging here. I am glad that your country seems to have it under control. We still have idiots who think it is a government plot.
oh yeah we have alot of people here who think that 2, I have relatives who think it's a big conspiracy, I'm like uh uh yeah sure, whatever...
hm, I would skip the lunch or bring it to the beach :) I love beaches.
Our Corona restrictions have increased but so far we don´t have to scan us or anything. Just follow orders. But the way I live I don´t have any problems, just being careful around people when shoping! :)
You are lucky you don't have cases in your community. We are far from getting the number in control. Humans sometimes don't want to obey the rules even if it's for their own good.

Scanning is far too sophisticated for us. Getting everyone to wear a mask is bad enough and overcrowding on sunny days a problem. Enjoy your freedom

Lunch overlooking the water in Paihia sounds like a great idea - and looks good, too. Like you, I continue to scan in wherever I go. If push came to shove I probably wouldn't be able to remember where I had been on a specific day and I think our contact tracing is one of the best weapons we have against the virus.
There is a surge of covid-19 cases here and we are going through a second Movement Control Order (partial lockdown).
Scanning is mandatory here or both the premise owner and customer will be slapped with a hefty fine.
Linda is right. I don't know about scanning being sophisticated, the SMS permit system is pretty hi-tech, but like your population getting people to do it is another thing entirely. Masks outdoors are supposedly obligatory here but seem to be worn as a chin-strap by 50% of people. Mr B saw someone napping in the sun wearing his as an eye-mask.

Lunch looks delicious and the view is beautiful. Numbers here are still high. Nothing is open except grocery shops. It's great that you have no covid, wish we could say the same. Take care and have a wonderful day.
As you know we are in a very strict lockdown here. The good news is that the vaccinations are being rolled out at a rate of 2million plus a week. They are looking to maybe open up some centres on a 24/7 basis but I think staffing them is a problem at the moment. Fingers crossed. I would love to have joined you for a meal at that restaurant with a view.

We should be there now or in March when the festivals are on, but, nada. "Corinna".
We wanted to move, too, but are too old. When we were young enough,... too little work experience on my side and then... we kinda FORGOT until it was too late. How dumb can one be.
Most of Scotland is in complete lockdown until mid February, as the numbers are still not going down. We had closed borders, but that didn't stop English people from importing the new strain over the borders in Dumfries and Galloway and the Borders, as some see lockdown as a welcome opportunity to jump into their RVs and illegally drive into Scotland. We see them all over the place, despite all the campsites being shut. They do it to Wales and Cornwall, too. so it's safe to say some think it won't affect them. Until it does. Our hospitals are close to capacity and GB has the highest death rate in the world now. We still count ourselves lucky that we have Nicola Sturgeon in charge, not Boris Johnson.

I am a hermit and rarely watch news on TV (usually when I forget to turn the channel) so reading these comments is a real eye opened to me.
Here in Taranaki, we have occasional scan thingys and hand sanitizer at the door of stores. I have never worn a mask. Except for the first three weeks where only one person did the shopping (Hubby), I'm thankful that my life has has zero impact from it all.
