The house of lights

Since we live in a very small town with a population of around 2500 there aren't many houses around with Christmas lights as decorations.  Last night we had a very very bright full moon so I drove out around 9.30 to get a photo the reflections over the estuary harbour and on the way back I noticed this house down a side street was completely full of lights all over - so nice to get into the Christmas spirit don't you think?

Now I just have to collect more myself...

Couldn't see the moon at all last night. We had heavy cloud. That house and it's lights are incredible. A lot of work

There seemed to be a phase where people went overboard with lights at Christmas and I suppose some people still do.We have some Christmas lights in the ton centre a a few neighbours have a string of lights around the eaves but that's about it so far as I've seen this year.

Our moon is a full moon this week too. We do not have many residences decked out either in my neighborhood. I guess people can't be bothered nowadays.

As our neighborhood aged and not that many people have young children the amount of decorated houses have plunged. I decided to not get on a ladder any longer and we pay an out fit to come put lights on the house and we put them down low. I love lights. I think we have gone from 70% of the houses having lights to maybe 20%. They are in clusters like the neighbors inspire each other in certain areas.

The house looks fabulous with all the festive lights.

That is pretty.

There are some streets nearby me where most of the houses are decorated. They are very popular in the evenings with cars travelling by slowly.

One of our neighbours has strung coloured lights up all around her garden. They look very pretty at night.

The Northern Advocate used to publish a list of decorated houses around town but I don't remember it last year and have not seen it this year either.
