Ferry ride to KohuKohu

There is a car ferry which runs from Rawene to Kohukohu every hour each day but passengers can also get rides on it too. We were one of about 10 cars waiting to get on and once on we had to stay in our car after paying. This was the view of the coastline that I took with my camera from my side, in the distance (you can't see it) there is an old church with a very tall steeple that we will come back and visit at some point.

Linking up with Skywatch Friday.

A lovely ferry ride. We have also done it as a "foot passenger" from Rawene return.

Ferry rides are always grand; it is so exhilarating to be on the water.

Pity you can't get out of the car. All passengers are supposed to alight from ours but I hardly ever do. So worthwhile though. The view is mighty

Too bad they make you stay in the car.

Nice pic, I haven't been on a ferry since I left the Houston area years ago. Some of them had strict rules about staying in your car.

I always remember that ferry because we got a puncture on the way to get what I think may have been the last ferry of the day. I recall that we were desperate to catch it anyway.

I've done that ride a long time ago but I don't remember having to stay in the car.
