Monarch butterflies everywhere

After a couple of bush walks on our days off this Monarch butterfly caught my attention on our way back to the car. Easily distracted I am I think! After following it I found there were quite a few more than this one. It's been such a mild winter up here that it feels like Spring has come early, maybe that's why this guy was out enjoying the sunshine.

Linking up with Our World Tuesday.

I think they have been around all winter as, of course, it has been so mild.

I love the monarch butterflies. I was fortunate to see them migrating in their thousands when I was in Mexico a few years ago. Something I'll never forget.

I've seen some butterflies up near me but the swan plants still have almost all their leaves (so there can't be too many butterflies around yet).

One of the big things I miss now that I no longer live in New Zealand is the beautiful and utterly amazing Monarch Butterflies.
