New kid on the block

Every now and again I change the area where I run each morning. For the last couple of weeks I've been running through residential streets, through a park and back along the main road past this new building. This is an apartment block that was built a few months ago, looks kind of minimalistic to me but underneath there is a coffee shop on the corner, next to that a travel agents and some offices further down, next door in a smaller building is a backpackers and next to that are the golden arches of McDonalds (where my daughter works).

Cloudy skies with quite a bit of rain this morning, places of NZ got more flooding - seems to have been a rather wet then dry Summer this season. Looking forward to tomorrow as I have a wedding to attend with the other half in which I have been asked to photograph so a bit nervous about that.

Linking up with Skywatch Friday :-)

Hello, I like the apartment building. We have had plenty of the gray sky days.
Enjoy your day and weekend!

It is a nice building. That seems to be the new thing here in Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA. Apartment buildings with retail and commercial on the first floor.
Good luck on your photography gig. I like taking pictures for myself. If I mess up too bad for me. I would be nervous of taking pics where people would be depending on me.

That is a nice looking apartment building. With the businesses located at the bottom, they will attract some of the residents because of the convenient location. Good for business.
I photograph for people occasionally and I'm nervous also. Good luck, I'm sure you'll do fine.

It wouldn't be out of place here.

Yes it looks so simple and functional. Last night I met a NZ resident vacationing here in Manila, she was newly wed and they stay near the Waterfalls in Auckland, the only waterwall i saw when i was there!

No place for a nice mural on those glass walls! Very modern.
Good luck with the photography.

A cool modern building. It makes the area look like a modern city.

The idea of living in an apartment with a coffee shop below sounds quite appealing Amy ☺ Nice to change up your run route now and then. Good luck with the wedding photography.. maybe we will get to see a few 😊

I like the fact that the architect has continued the NZ tradition of building over the walkway.Like some other commenters I also like the idea of living over a coffee shop.

the building looks boring to me but is probably much better indoors :)
