Overcast skies and red Autumn leaves at McLaren Falls

As I've now moved to Tauranga and still waiting to hear back as to whether I start my new job next week i've been getting itchy feet so two days ago I drove out to a local place - McLaren Falls. What a stunning place! Up north where I'm from we just don't get the Autumn colours that I see here - this tree for example was one of many in either yellow or red. When I looked up through the branches I could see the overcast sky and bits of the sun trying to peer through the leaves. I just love this place!

I think your sky needed the color of the tree.

Glad your move turned out OK. Good luck with the job .

Great skywatch here. I like the tree. Is that an autumn color here or is it always like that.

That's gorgeous, what type of tree is it? I agree, we definitely don't get anything like that and little variation from all the Poplars :)

looks like this is my favorite skywatch picture! living in tropical and semi arid region, we don't have these trees. Absolutely love the color of leaves! all we are used to seeing is green and yellow color...unfortunately, I can't like the post as I don't have Google id !

And isn't it amazing to realise how there is always each season somewhere in the world - simultaneously - connecting us all!
