So we're not asking where is Summer? When the Pohutukawa flowers bloom here it's a kiwi belief that it means we are in for a good hot season. These above, around the corner from my house came out late November but since then we've had rain on and off and only a fine days - not that I"m complaining. I know sooner or later the hot sunny days will come but for now the water is filling up my tank and helping the farmers.

I cant wait however the forecast isnt good
thanks Jen, we're due apparently for a big storm here, no summer yet
Oh my gosh that is a fabulous flower. Rain can be a blessing but also a curse when it causes damage. We have farming family in North Dakota and hear all about rain and crops and so on.
yes it gets very very dry here, we're a seaside coastal town so the sand doesn't absorb much. I know the farmers will be happy with the rain though.
I love to see these red blooms, they make me smile knowing that summer is on the way! We've had a few days that I would consider 'summery' but rain at night (not as much as Stratford--which is ALWAYS wet!). I can get out and walk down the road, so I'm happy.
That flowe just looks like summer! Warm and flamboyant! Gotta love it.
