When we first moved to Greymouth we drove out to Otira which is about an hour out of town. Snow on the mountains is the sort of scenery we see at this time of year. So anyway the Otira Stagecoach Hotel is so unique as the owners have placed all sorts of collectables around the property, including a type of "Dobby" from the Harry Potter series.
Apparently it was built in 1902 to serve the pioneers who first came here who travelled through the Alpine Pass.

The mountain backdrop renders a very classic scene
I've had a very nice tea break here a couple of times on my way through the pass. 😄
Looks nice as hotel and the surroundings are beautiful. PS your header is stunning with that White Lady.
...it looks like and interesting place!
Lovely place but it really struggles to survive as a business. Having said that this latest iteration seems to have hung on for a few years. We always stop there on our way over the pass to Brunner.
It sits in a beautiful location with the mountain in the back.
Lovely little café with a wonderful background!
Great shots.
You call that Snow? If that´s all you´ve got concider yourselfs lucky.
What´s that on the roof? Statue of Space Alien?
That place is in such a pretty setting with the mountains behind it.
So interesting.
