Tribute to Hundertwasser

Another mural from Whangarei, this one is painted with a tribute to Hundertwusser and created by Tutukaka artist Carolyn Radford. Located in James Street it gives a nod to the Hundertwusser/Wairau Maori Arts Centre Project and the actual art centre has been quite a feat to complete. It hosts exhibitions, learning and special events - you can read more about it here.

Linking up with Mural Monday.

Another great mural. The Maori arts centre sounds like an interesting place to visit

The name Hundertwasser was familiar but I knew nothing about him, so I just read a brief biography. What an interesting life! I had no idea he was part of the culture in New Zealand, as well as various European countries. Thank you for introducing me.

This is a wonderful mural. I like how the artist has used colours and lines to feature expressions..

This painting in hundertwasser style is beautiful and surprising in front of a Maori center. But it's good when the culture circulates and allows exchanges and also reinterpretations

Brilliant mural, love all the colours and shapes. I've seen a Hundertwasser mural in Lisbon.
Thanks for participating in Monday Murals Amy.

I could just use one sentence to comment on all your posts: "This really makes me wish I could visit." Hunterwasser Center is a wonderful idea -- your photo is beautiful and I looked at the link to learn more. thanks for both.
