In Taupo moored at the marina is this wee boat, the "Ernest Kemp". It is a private charter boat which takes people out on the lake to view the local Maori rock carvings. The replica steam boat is 14.5 metres long and weighs just over 20 tonnes. It is powered by two 4 cylinder ford diesel engines of 73hp producing an average speed of approx 9 knots. The steering wheel was one of 2 winding reels mounted on both sides of a horse drawn hose reel used by fire brigades years ago. The steam whistle was originally from a a bush steam locomotive engine that operated hauling logs in the central north island.
oh and yesterday I had my 2nd Covid vaccination, again no major side effects other than a slightly sore arm but good to get it done.

I admit, I rarely check blog comments on other blogs back and in case you don´t either I just copy my answer in here :-)
Pickled eggs I´ve never seen in a store.
I use this (Ingo´s) recipe:
cook 10 eggs for say... depending on the size 6 1/2-7 minutes, so they´re still a bit soft.
Take about 45g salt, 2 tbsp mustard seeds, 1 tbsp pepper-corn, 2 bay leafs and... just for good looking black tea, say 2 tbsp, put that in enough water to later cover the eggs (that you let cool down, otherwise they get hard).
Cook the mix for 5 minutes, let it cool.
Take a spoon and crack the eggshells, but leave them on, then put the eggs into the cooled water-mix.
After 2 days give it a first taste, and when tasty replace most of the mix with plain, cold water, otherwise the taste gets too strong.
I think it´s tasty and eggs are very healthy. A mini-bit of work, but eggs for 10 days :-)
For me, as Ingo somehow doesn´t like eggs anymore.. Men, huh..
...it look ship shape! We have similar boats in the Adirondacks.
I'm not sure a boat can be called "cute" but I'd venture to say that this one is exactly that.

Nice boat, pretty Reflections. I wonder, Fords long time modern four cylinder engines were of the Ford Pinto car and pickup variety. A workhorse but the rubber and string timing belt was its weak spot.
