As many of you may not know I grew up predominantly in the suburbs of Auckland but spent a few years working in the central city. These days I am more of a country bumpkin but back then the city streets weren't as modern as they are today but I do miss the hustle and bustle along with the different ethnicities and cultures. Just as well we occasionally get back there...

A good view.
I grew up in the country, live in the city, and think of going back to country living.
I don't miss the city at all and cannot remember when I last visited Auckland.
Good city shot.
I know what you mean. I miss the hustle and bustle sometimes too, the wide range of choices, cultures. I always say I'd like a townhouse for city visits. And a mountain House for the summer. Oh well....
I grew up in the suburbs of a large city in England (Liverpool) with very diverse cultures. Much of it, particularly the centre and the 5 or more miles of docklands, had been devastated by bombing in the Second World War. I left the city in my early 20s and have never lived in an urban situation since. I would not like it one bit. Well, not in the UK. The 'feel' of Auckland is entirely different from Liverpool except in its variety of peoples who live there.
I like this street scene. I'm a city girl through and through.
I grew up in a small town. Boring. Not city, not village.
Now we live in a village in the city - perfect (our quarter is small and it´s 15 minutes on foot to the heart of the city).
P.S. ... the DeLorian is alive today over at my place, if you wanna see :-)
Having grown up in deepest rural NZ Auckland was like another planet. Now having lived in a few of the world's larger and densely packed cities, Auckland, for all its modernity, might actually feel green and open and fresh.
I know what you mean Amy, I live in a suburb quite close to the city and enjoy popping into the city regularly. Super street view ✨
...I was raised in a small city and now live in the country, but I still enjoy returning to the city now and then!
Cool street capture.
Since I retired, we still live in Tulsa but I miss the downtown area where I worked. With the pandemic, the city center is still pretty quiet.
Nice street scene. I grew up in the city outside of Boston and now live in rural Ireland. I still like visiting the city every now and then but love going back to the quiet rural area.
Wonderful city photo ~ cities are fun to visit ~ Xo
