There are many many air conditioning units and ceiling fans going full blast here - we've been having a major heatwave. Parts of the country over this week have reached record temperatures, one of my cousins who lives in Timaru said they had gotten up to 42 degrees celsius and there was a news story on the other night about the paint on the side of someone's house melting.
In our aspirations to stay cool here I've discovered my favourite drink is a simple cold water with ice cubes and lime cordial, I take it in my drink bottle as well when I go to work and it is very refreshing. '
So what are you doing in your part of the world to stay cool/warm?
Linking up with Skywatch Friday.

We have our heat on but don't require it all day. An hour in the morning when we get up and another hour in the afternoon if we are home. Our place is nice and small and that helps a lot. Stay cool!
...oh my, 42C is much too warm for me, take care!
Staying indoors out of the cold and at the moment drizzling rain
Hot here again this afternoon. The fans are all going and every window and door is open to catch any little passing breeze. I'm glad this house is so well insulated that it never gets too hot inside :)
Usually open windows early then close the windows and curtains later to keep heat out. Supposed to be a bit cooler tomorrow thank goodness. Could do with some decent rain.
Here it's cold, and the trick is dressing in layers while outside.
That is an incredible temperature for NZ. I remember my brother in the Bay complaining of a heatwave when it was 28o.
Keep close to that lime juice and ice, and the beach!
Semi cold in Finland also.
Staying cool is not a problem in Scotland's Outer Hebrides. 20ºC would be regarded as a heatwave. When I stayed in New Zealand The Cottage had air conditioning for hot nights. However the heat was usually a dry heat unlike Northland's moist heat and was, therefore, usually less of a problem for me during the day.
That is getting hot..you might think about the sports hydration tablets that go in water to make a drink...
You are killing me with the heat. It's cold here. And I agree when it is ultra hot nothing beats cold water, ice, and some lime or lemon to flavor it a little bit.
We had 40 in Sydney on Tuesday.
Yikes, when it gets hot enough to melt paint, that's scary!! We went from record-setting highs to cold (by S CA standards) and rainy. We so need the rain, so the more the better!
You reminded me of one hot summer in stupid ole Germany.
The bathroom in my 1-room-apartment had no window and it was so hot the stickers I had on the wall melted and ran town the tiles. What an icky mess.
And in Perth/Australia one Christmas I sat with a bucket of cold water to run over my legs. We had no aircon... But to be honest... I love heat.
Now, here, 1C outside, 18 inside, Detlef Soost is ready to dance with me to warm up!
Oh my... it seems that we are getting one challenge after another. Good luck with this one.
Oh I hear you Amy, after a few cooler days it looks like our temps are heating up again also, will be so happy when February, our hottest month, is over.. happy weekend, keep cool 💙
It is very cold here in MA (New England) USA ~ warm clothes and staying indoors ~ Be cool ~ nothing lasts forever ~

That seems pretty darn hot for your part of the world. Kind of like our summers here. Stay cool!
