It's beginning to feel like Spring here. I drove past our local council buildings last week to see that daffodil sculptures had been put up on display in front of the fountain. These flowers are the one that New Zealand's cancer society use in order to raise funding for their organization. The wooden sculptures have been made by a local community group "The Menz Shed".
I'm not sure why someone's rugby boot got thrown up onto the grass though.

Must be symbol of cancer society everywhere. I have yet to see mass daffodils here but have my fingers crossed for at least one good swathe somewhere.
Although ubiquitous in April, daffodils are a sure sign of spring in Canada too.
Our daffodils pop up around February.
The daffodil sculptures seem like a lovely community touch, even if the stray rugby boot adds an unexpected bit of mystery to the scene

Daffodils are always a welcome sight after a cold winter. It's still hot here, but September is coming soon and then it will cool off. Looking forward to fall, but not winter.
Beautiful to see the first early signs of spring.
