A spring day in Hokitika |
At last we have some regular sunshine. Spring has been very wet for the whole country but now that we are nearly into Summer it's starting to fine up. There has been alot of action here and people are in the process of marching to parliament as the government is trying to change The Treaty of Waitangi which is the country's original legislation of the partnership between Maori and the British during the first days of colonization. Many people, and rightfully so are up in arms about it. Personally I am tired of rich white people running the country into the ground. We need a positive change here but the next lot of general elections aren't until 2026..
Linking up with Skywatch Friday and Tom's signs.

Love the date. You all are SO ahead of us here in the U.S. :-)
Change is never far away.
WARNING hobby horse: The super rich (in many colours) are exploiting the entire planet, but seem to hold all the keys to political power (although not in power themselves - can't possibly expose themselves to public scrutiny - and pull the strings of all those puppet politicians through 'lobbying' and straight out bribery/corruption), so they get to go on abusing (raping) the earth's resources.
Hokitika looks lovely in spring sunshine.
I don't understand the government trying to change the treaty either. Are they just wanting to stir up trouble? They must have known it would very contentious, they need to leave well enough alone.
she is definitely carrying a load
Humanity needs to be reset!
To see the sun for once (grey here since days Or weeks?).
Politics runs wild everywhere it seems. Money rules.
It is heartening to see the hikoi
Changing the Treaty of Waitangi? No wonder people are complaining!
