Yesterday I was driving around with my daughter and I spotted this empty derelict house on the outskirts of town. Looks like a typical 1930s property and I'm not sure if it had a fire or whether it's just empty and neglected.
Speaking of fire, we were woken up at 6am this morning by the loudest crack of thunder I've ever heard in my life, we thought something had exploded out in the street. Turned out we'd had a couple of lightning strikes that had struck something, we weren't sure what but as it happened one of the buildings in town had been hit and was on fire. Our neighbour across the road had called the fire department who turned up for about half an hour so no idea what happened there.

That is a dark sky over that abandoned house. A dramatic and moody photo.
Derelict houses make for lovely photos!
We rarely get thunderstorms fortunately but I've seen thunderbolts blow holes in buildings and one very very old and remote house on the Island was hit and destroyed a few years ago. Fortunately the sleeping occupants got out.
...this is sad, but I love to photograph scenes like this.
Power of Mother Nature is mighty. When she´s unhappy we - the people - are quite small and very humble.
That looks like it might have been a nice house at one time.
I wish all these old houses could be restored. Or we could see a 'before' photo. It looks like a classic farmhouse
That is scary! I experienced one of those loud cracks just last fall. The flash of light and the loud crash were almost right together. It must have been close but luckily, nothing caught fire.
That's scary, waking up to a noise like that and not knowing what it's about...
Someone probably has fond memories of that home, sited nicely. Sad to see its skeleton.
Wow. Scary stuff that close. #Allseasons
