I've driven past this little church a few times on the way to Nelson Creek and Reefton. There's not much known about it sadly except it was privately owned until recently when the owner passed away. It's not looking good, very unloved - I wonder what the interior looks like.

It certainly needs some TLC. I hope it gets it
Probably as bad as the outside
In my exploring days of 'safaris with Pauline' we could not have passed that without doing our best to have really good explore and, if at all possible, get inside.
That looks like a gem
I'd love to know the back story - why did the person buy a church? #ThruMyLens
It may very well be sounder than it looks. By now you will jave wrked out that West Coast climate is hard on painted westherboards. They develop a 'look' don't they?
It might be fun to renovate that! I bet it could look quite fine.

Hi Amy, As Graham said we explored many churches back in the days when he traveled annually between here and the Outer Hebrides. But one day when I was by myself I came across a new church and was having a great old time wandering around taking photos and admiring the gardens when suddenly I noticed something was "different" and it dawned on me it was no longer a church but privately owned and that I was trespassing.
I hope this church's new owners can restore it to its former glory. I've seen some really beautiful restorations into private homes.
Sad to see abandoned structures, beautiful photo though.
Such a cute church. Very nice.
Ngahere is across the river from Blackball, isn't it? I spent a lot of time up that way when I was teenager. Good memories.
Nice one with that woodwork
Looked like a barn
