The Barber

I've been finding a selection of murals around town that have been painted on Chorus utility boxes. This one is along one of the side roads off the main road along Greymouth. Painted by artist Ivory Racho it depicts the barber winds that add texture to the hills and mountains along with natural wind formations that occur and flow down the Grey River.

Linking up with Mural Monday.

That is beautiful...far better than a plain box!

It is so much more pleasant to see these boxes painted up so nicely, rather than just being utilitarian (and often an invitation to taggers). This one is particularly delightful :)

This looks pleasing to the eye. Utility boxes are becoming common for art or other adornments here.

This is a beautiful mural and adds life to a plain utility box. Lovely colour combination too.
Have a great day!

I've learned something new about winds and wind patterns, Amy. This utility box is amazing and educational, too.

This makes these utility boxes so pleasant to see. I wish they did it here.

So is that the name for the wind that creates those strange clouds that hug parts of the mountains? Sometimes we would see what looked like a cloud on the other side that couldn't quite make it over the top, or sort of evaporate as it crossed over to our side of the mountains.
