Another one I snapped while driving through Auckland City a few years ago. It seems there are roadworks just about everywhere these days and while the roads need regular maintenance and upgrading, the plumbing and sewerage systems underneath these streets are pretty much as old as when the city was first founded. Auckland has seen some major changes over the years, it's definitely not the same as when I was growing up there but this is progress I guess...
Linking up with Weekend reflections and the Weekend roundup.

Construction is now everywhere to "boost" economy
What I love about this shot in the curve. Very fun shot. Photography is much fun for sure. Cheers, Ivy.
Aukland is a pretty town. We flew into Aukland in December 2012 early in the morning to catch a Princess cruise later in the day. Most stayed in a hotel waiting room until cruise time, we walked until afternoon. The city and a little of the North Island, mostly though time was spent at Devonport, a pretty little town. Its most prominent feature is a hill named Mount Victoria which of course we climbed. Some of our tales and pictures are here,

That kind of infrastructure is being updated here, but it takes time.
Every summer in Finland roads are maintained. They´re Every where it seems. Annoying but mandatory I´m affaid.
Never ending.
Could sing a song about that....
We have here a 1008 years old cathedral, had been under repair for at least 60 years
Plenty of road work here. They just finished some this past summer here in town.
Maintenance and upgrades are necessary although irritating sometimes. The city of Tulsa where I live turned down some bond issues back in the 1980s due to the oil bust. We got way behind on infrastructure and are still working on the resulting backlog.
When thing are broke or get worn out, they have to be fixed and we have to put up with any inconvenience while they are doing it.
same here in Brussels ;-). Happy New Year Amy.
It actually looks calm and peaceful compared to towns and cities over here. Xxx Mr T
