Petrol prices are crazy

It was a year ago we were holidaying in Taupo and on the way home we stopped in Tirau where I took my usual loads of photos 😂.  The petrol prices since then have risen dramatically, mostly because of the fighting  between Russia and Ukraine. At the moment, depending on where you live in New Zealand they can range from between $2.70 to $3.30 per litre for standard unleaded. It's become pretty crazy.

And thankfully I am back at work today due to testing negative for covid on Wednesday. I'm feeling alot better but just stuck with a bit of a dry cough but from what I hear that's fairly normal. Thank you for all the good wishes.

And here I thought $1.54 Canadian was bad enough.

Yes, the prices are crazy. Not only petrol. Payed 10 cents more for bread and they said gas prices will raise 40%!
Glad you´re better!

Well done for feeling better.

Our prices have come down a little due to a small reduction in tax..but are still the equivalent of $nz3.50 a litre if you are lucky for petrol and diesel is heading for $nz4....

Our petrol prices this morning was €1-90 a litre. The government took the excise tax off it to help people. I believe the tax was 12cents. Glad to hear you feel better. Have a great day!

So glad you are feeling better Amy (yay for the negative test!), and able to enjoy being back at work. There is simply too much tax on our petrol, so I was happy the government found themselves able to drop it by 25 cents a litre, even if only for three months. The price is still awful, though hopefully it will drop a little as they are saying that oil prices are starting to drop again.

Ours just dropped because the government took half their taxes off the price. A temporary move because we have an upcoming election. ;)

They dropped here a bit from the peak cost.
