On the side of the Event Cinema building in Whangarei is this cute mural of a cat looking at a native Weta. I'm guessing if you've never seen this insect before you'd think its scary but they are totally harmless and just have a little bite to them. This mural was painted by Swift Mantis as part of the Street Arts Manaia Festival.
Linking up with Mural Monday.

How sweet. The kitty ready to play.
That is juat magical. Weta mare, as you say, harmless but nevertheless they are scary when you wake with one on your pillow. Leastways it definitely scared the proverbial out of me.
Love the expression on the cat's face!!
...delightful.
Nice! The cat wants to play.
Yes, I have seen a weta! In a botanical garden near Wellington.

That one is a marvelous sight.
I've never heard of a weta before. LOVE the kitty and the playful mural, though.
This is an interesting mural with a beautiful cat.
Have a great day!
Such a sweet cat. Thank you for the link. Yesterday I jumped cause a butterfly made it into the kitchen...
I had to look up what a weta was - a giant cricket - that could be scary. The cat looks so cute.
Thanks for participating in Monday Murals Amy.
