In Greymouth is this little vintage Dunollie hotel/pub. When we walked in we had our masks on as it was and still is mandatory to wear a mask when you enter into a business but no one else was wearing theirs and we kind of both got funny looks so we took them off. At the time there were no positive cases on the West Coast, now there is sadly, it's pretty much everywhere.
This photo above is what one side of the hotel looked like with the pool table and bar area.
This was the eating side of the hotel - we sat near the windows looking outside to the entrance.
B pretty much always gets fish and chips, a true kiwi staple but I ordered the quintessential shrinp cocktail complete with loads of thousand island dressing.
The history of this hotel is that the building we were in is a rebuild. The original Dunollie Hotel was a 2 storied building which was constructed in January 1905 but was destroyed in a fire on March 9th 1928. An attempt was made to relocate the license to a proposed new hotel in nearby Runanga but it was defeated by an effort by local church groups. The present hotel was built shortly after.

Wow. Interesting to see the history too. #WWOT
they have a pool table, wow, how long I haven't played pool.
It's nice to see how it changed after the fire.
Sounds like a fun day out. I wish I had some fish and chips right now.
That's a big shrimp cocktail.
I love the backstory of the hotel.
Sad that cases are on the rise again. Are we ever going to be rid of this virus!!
Interesting history.
We have rising cases of Omicron B here...and we keep our masks on, whatever others do.
It can feel uncomfortable...but sometimes others start following our lead. Be braves stay safe xx
The billiards table appeals to me.
Love the quaint little vintage hotel/pub.
That cocktail!!! Drooling!
Happy Tuesday, Amy!
Wonderfulambiance!
Wear your mask... take it off. At times it can confusing.
Interesting , and beautiful building, sad the original´d burned down.
Here numbers rise as well, yet from 20th on masks will not be mandatory anymore. Give some logic...
Great photos and history of the building/hotel ~ Xo

...the exterior looks like buildings found in Maui. I would have the fish and chips too!
I nice hotel to say at
Restaurant looks good, interesting to read the hotel history. Fun day out. We still mask up in businesses and we get some funny looks, but we're extra caareful because we're in Florida where half the people are sick in the hospital with COVID and the other half believe its all a hoax. (I'm exaggerating a little more than slightly, but the case #s are very high and the governor is an idiot.)
Haven´t played pool for a long time. At one time I was part of our local watering hole´s pool team. Played againt other bars teams. Good excuse to drink beer and smoke some pot. The reason we didn´t do all that well.. ;)
Wonderful photos, and interesting history.
The fish and chips loo very tasty.
