In one of our local supermarkets every year Hospice puts up 2 Christmas trees in the foyer and encourages people to not just make a donation and also decorate both of them with cards dedicated to loved ones who have passed on.
If you don't know who they are, Hospice NZ are a very worthy organization who support people who are not just struggling with family and friends who have life limiting illnesses but they also care for people who are dying.

Hospice does wonderful work throughout the world and helps millions of people.
Our local hospices are wonderful organizations. Lovely idea of remembrance cards.
I don't know how we would cope without the wonderful work of hospices.
Oh yes, hospice care workers are lovely...
I have tremendous respect for hospice. To help someone approaching the end of earthly life with comfort and dignity is such a worthy mission.

Very worthy.
I know hospice makes such a difference to those in need. My sis in law used to volunteer at one in Tauranga
...this is a wonderful tradition for the community!
Nice idea, and lovely post.
Bitter sweet.
A good idea. I wanted to thank the hospital staff who took such great, friendly care of our Mum. And... construction site - the staff and rooms had moved and no one could tell me where to.
Something like this would´ve helped.
It's a great organization here too (at least in Oregon, where I know people who have benefitted so much -- and where I know a woman who is a hospice nurse.)
