Raku

Another one from Napier - down one of the streets in the city with a little sign that says "Raku". At first I thought it was a sushi shop but it seems it is a Japanese shop selling art and household products - I wish I'd had a look in there now.

Yes I would have presumed Sushi too.

Art and household items, what a combination. I like the little sign they have, it's cute.

What a pity you missed out as I'm sure it would have made an interesting stop.

Cute sign. Why should household stuff not be arty. A friend presented me with a Gerbera that is a brush for dishwashing (I never use it, too precious).

...the cat says that it's Japanese for me!

What a cute little sign. It leaves a lot to the imagination as to what it stands for. I probably would have guessed the same.

Japanese culture is growing it seems. We had a Tokyo in Tulsa event in Tulsa a few weeks ago.

My OH thinks all NZ towns are like that. When he visited years ago we were in Methven at lunchtime one day and he threatned to lie down in the middle of the main street because for as far as you could see in either direction (straight road on Canterbury Plains) he couldn't see any traffic. Nothing moving for miles!
