Waiting for Summer

For a while now we've been wanting to buy an outdoor table and chair set so last week when we saw they were in sale we were able to snap one up in our local Bunnings store. We originally thought we would have to drive to Whangarei to buy one but it turned out the one in our town had 1 left. They were 2 chairs short so we had to order them and hope to pick them up next week.

The idea is to be able to sit outside in warmer weather with a book and coffee along with eating lunch outside on Christmas day. My flowers in their plant pots will be blooming by then so it will be quite a colourful spot.

Quite spring-like today here. That will be a great spot in summer.

Even after all these years of blogging (and reading blogs from other corners of the world) the thought of sitting outdoors at Christmas still seems weird to me (as over here, Christmas falls in the winter...) Congratulations on finding your outdoor furniture, though! :)

Oh eating Xmas dinner outdoors - I feel quite homesick. Our Xmas was always simple (Dad insisted it was Mum's day off too) so it was cold ham he'd baked earlier in the week, lettuce salad, and new spuds from the garden - and a cream and raspberry topped Pav (one Mum prepared earlier). She could make great Pav my Mum. We ate cold ham for days. It was the only time of the year we got ham so we always salivated waiting for it, and couldn't wait to see the end of it by the time New Year rolled around. Oh happy simple days.

Nice to look forward too. The seasons are marching on. Still hot here but autumn just around the corner

Looks great. I love a spot outdoors to enjoy the fresh air. When I had a house, I had a huge yard. Now I just have a balcony but I go out there several times a day. Even now when it's hot.

Eating in the fresh air under the sun is good for the soul. Wishing you many happy meals.

looks very nice and comfortable. I reacted on Christmas day. :) In Sweden that might mean a lot of snow on that table. Then I remember, you are "downunder" :) :)

Nice table. I like it. If we were outside at Christmas it would be either raining, windy or both. :)

Outside on that nice table looks pretty wonderful. Can we come spend Christmas with you guys? (LOL, things are such a mess here, I wonder if we’ll ever again be able to travel out of the country. ). In all seriousness, I am not looking forward to winter when we can’t spend time outside. We have decided it’s not safe for us to travel to Florida this year.
