Modern collective streetwear

We don't have many murals here but I did find this one on the side of the one of the business buildings which is a mixture of things but in general seems to be advertising Modern Collective Streetwear - a clothing shop which has stores in Whangarei, Paihia and Kerikeri.

Last week we moved down to Alert Level 3 but it seems we still have plenty of idiots about. In last night's news there was a story about people flocking to a South Island beach and most of them not observing the 2 metre rule. So we're still suppose to be in lockdown unless you have essential travel and people just dont' seem to care - what's up with that?

...it does a great job attracting attention!
Oh Amy, this is a really good one. I loved the part that read "Your ad here." Very clever, quite colorful, and a great find.

I hadn't heard of it. Yes, there are some fools around. I was talking to a friend yesterday and she said her daughter, here in Tikipunga, had to call the police as she had drunks in the garden.
There are idiots everywhere apparently. We sure have our share over here.

Fun mural, "your ad here" ;-)
Yes, same here, some people don´t either get it or want to provoke. Well, they are dumb.

It reminds me of a Shepard Fairey mural, his style and colours.
Thanks for contributing Amy, it's very nice.
We are doing quite well in Western Australia too, let's hope people keep their thinking heads on and it stays this way until we can return to normal in a couple of weeks.

Nice fun mural. I think that all the idiots all over the world should be placed somewhere together away from the rest of the population.

Our idiots are more idiotic than yours any day. We have protestors taking firearms inside some of our State Capitol Buildings. Why they are not arrested and carted off, I don't know.

Super murals Amy, well spotted. There are always going to be a small group of people that think the law doesn't apply to them. I think though that NZ and Oz are doing pretty well, fingers crossed it stays that way ✨

Some businesses are allowed to open up here this week. I'm not sure how that will work out. It will be interesting and scary to see.

We are starting to ease up restrictions here, slowly but surely. However, still working from home. Grateful I still have work.

Auckland Metropolis Museum

In amongt the modern new highrise buildings in Auckland City is this smaller vintage building that is currently for sale (I'd buy it if I had the money).   My research found that:  "It was designed by English-born architect Charles Towle and erected in the early 1930s as the Church of Christ, Scientist, the building's Graeco-Roman facade has towering columns that frame its impressive entranceway, with three ornate timber doors decorated with leadlight inserts providing access to the expansive foyer. Arched ceilings dominate the former congregational high stud space beyond the foyer and numerous picturesque windows provide a light, airy feel and an ambience many office buildings lack. The building housed congregational and Sunday school services for 70 years until it was sold and converted into office space in 2003. A significant refurbishment was also carried out with care taken to ensure that the building's distinctive character remained intact. Special architectural ...

Family

Photo taken Spring 2024 in Auckland We have been invited to a family reunion in June 2026 which will be held in Auckland so I'm looking forward to catching up with relatives that I haven't seen in over 10 years.  This week we have: Had a good chat with a friend who has also adopted a rescue dog - must arrange a play date. I've bought some non alcoholic liqueurs to mix up for mocktails which have been very nice as I don't really drink. We had a massive wind storm 2 days ago, we were ok but a good friend who lives 20 minutes away had a bolt of lightning strike her house, the result was a blown up power box inside and part of her kitchen got burned, she had to call out the fire brigade to put it out. And I have a question for you; when you add your blog post to a blog meme or a blog link up, do you expect the owner of that blog to at least come back and comment on the other blogs that have linked up to it including yours even if it's only occasionally?  I actually th...

Hail

Spring is throwing out some strange weather right now. We don't get snow where we live but it is visible on some of the mountains around us over Winter. Last week around 4.30am we had a very loud thunderstorm with hail. It wasn't until an hour or so later my daughter said this is what she saw out on our deck.  Clumps of hail all over the deck and on her hand. Apparently various other suburbs around town got it too.
