Intersection

This is one of Greymouth's busy intersections even though this photo was taken after I had finished work later in the afternoon. Linking up with  Weekend Reflections   and the  Weekend Roundup .

Orakei Bay Village

Back in the day when I was growing up Orakei, on the outskirts of Auckland City wasn't so posh but now it's a very upmarket area with high property prices. Spring, a year ago. Linking up with  Skywatch Friday   and  Tom's signs .

Lights

Back when we lived in Tauranga I use to take photos of just about anything and everything. I find everyday life of others quite interested - call me nosey if you want. This is one of the main streets in Mount Maunganui (by the beach) in Winter. B and I were talking about moving back to the north island after the mortgage is paid and although Tauranga is probably out of our budget it's still a place of interest, the other area I am thinking of is Whangarei perhaps as I have family up that way but it won't be for a few years yet. Health 2000

Taken along one of the main streets in town. Health 2000 is a chain of health food shops that sell supplements and things that are supposed to be good for you. Linking up with  Weekend Reflections   and the  Weekend Roundup .

Marra

One from the old days when we lived in Mount Maunganui. From memory I think this was taken of construction work going on at the house next to where we lived - they were pulling it down and building a new set of apartments. Just a typical rainy Winter's day. Speaking of rain, now that Spring is nearly here we have had alot of rainy days, the forecast next week for the whole country is rain so we are hoping for a nice hot Summer once it's over. Spring beach walks

My daughter has had her dog "Bug" for about 2 months now and last weekend was the first time we took her to the beach. She has been getting more confident and let a few people touch her plus she even played with another little dog there. More signs of Spring - this is my neighbour's Plum tree that hangs over the fence in our backyard. Every Summer when it fruits we pick from what's on our side. Game

This is a fun thing we saw last time we were at Christchurch Airport last November. It's a big chess game board that we've seen people playing with.  Linking up with  Weekend Reflections   and the  Weekend Roundup .

More Spring

I'm loving the slightly warmer weather we've been getting here. I snapped this photo last week outside the local library in town after I'd had a haircut. The glass structure to the left is a public telephone box. Spark is one of the main companies in New Zealand who provide telephone/cellphone/internet service. This photo was taken early in the morning so most people at work. Linking up with  Skywatch Friday  and  Tom's Signs .

Spring

I was on my way home after work last week and saw that all of the Spring daffodils were blooming next to the river and railway tracks across the road. We can definitely feel warmer temperatures in the air. Linking up with  T hrough my lens ,  Tuesday Treasures ,  My corner of the world   and  Wordless Wednesday .

Flags

It's been a busy week for me. I've taken on extra shifts at work and it feels like Spring is in the air here. This photo was taken last time we were in Hokitika a few months ago. The flag on the left is the New Zealand one and the one on the right is about ANZAC Day which is normally in April each year so maybe it was accidentally left up. Honey Cafe

So here are the photos from 2 weeks ago when i visited a new cafe which is on the corner of Kumara/Greymouth and Hokitika.  In the corner of where we were sitting was a display of Greenstone/Pounamu -  I did ask where it had come from and I was told by one of the workers that a local lady finds these in the nearby rivers. The counter area that was full of yummy food at good prices. Some of the seating area - we chose this table and chairs near the window with sun coming through. My 2 children and friends ordering their food. Always gotta have a mochaccino when we visit cafes - that's my go to. So if you ever are out this way, visit this cafe cos their food was darn good and well priced. Evening

This was taken last week outside my work. A quiet Winters night. The last 2 nights we've had temperatures down to - 1 at night. Yesterday morning I started work at 7am - my daughter and I had to pour a bucket of cold water on my car windscreen and scrape ice off but today we have lovely fine sunny weather. This was the ice on our deck outside this morning. I ventured out in my slippers and heard the ice crunching under my feet. Linking up with  Weekend Reflections   and the  Weekend Roundup .

On the move...

Seen parked outside the local vet's in town - I wouldn't want to be a courier, far too much of a busy job for my liking. Linking up with  Skywatch Friday  and  Tom's Signs .
