Over Winter when we had just moved to Greymouth we drove out to local Moana where the Lake Brunner Hotel sits on the ede of the land overlooking the water. This part of the West Coast is mostly full of holiday home owners and it wasn't very busy so we just had a brief look around.

Originally named the Mitchells Lake Hotel in 1868 and then rebuilt in the 1930s. It runs on hydro power from the nearby Carew Falls and is a popular eating place these days.

...it look similar today.
Nice hotel, I checked the link and the inside has some nice places to stay.
The streetscape is wonderful. Peaceful looking too. The name rings a bell though.
Isn't that a hotel on the TranzAlpine train journey. On bucket list!!
Very "cool"! Can someone invent beaming? I´d like to visit!
Nice to see a hotel that is spread out rather than trying to block the view. Also eco-friendly.
It looks like a nice place to stay
An old school hotel which is not a bad thing.
I love the car with the boat on top in the old photo. Don't see that much any longer, not here in the USA anyway.
Looks like a beautiful place with an interesting history. Happy holidays!
