We're all set for Summer rain

There's meant to be heavy rain warnings over much of NZ for the next couple of days, we've mostly had a dry Summer so far with the odd rain spell here and there. Certain parts of the country get it more than others - one thing I miss about living up north is that we use to get real storms up there, you know the kind where the house shakes, the wind howls outside, thunder and lightening - we don't seem to get much of that here in Tauranga.

Anyway I'm sure that no matter how wet it gets here it'll be much needed...

  2. Gorgeous shot, I love it. You made me laugh when you mentioned that you missed real storms, the kind that make your house shake. :)

  3. I welcome storms once in a while, but not the kinds you describe, bec we live by the water in a high rise with huge glass windows and it's scary to see them shake and rattle. There had been cases where some of these windows shattered... what a pain and inconvenience that could be!

  4. Hopefully you wont get any flooding which happens here when the earth is dry and hard. Just a refeshing downpour!

  5. Yes, the wind roars and the house shakes. Still not a lot of lightening and thunder.

  6. You know, I miss that too! We do get storms with thunder and lightening but they move so quickly, it's all over in 15 minutes. I grew up where they lasted for hours. I miss that.
