My first fungi at McLaren Falls

It's not often I find gems like this but today at the entrance near Cherry Bay at McLaren Falls I was walking back to my car and spotted this small fungi against the fence. I'm usually on the lookout for mushrooms so I was pleased to at least see one :-)

Interesting pattern on it, almost looks like a miniature giraffe skin.

If you love mushrooms, have you ever seen purple ones? They look really weird, especially for the fact that you are generally walking through bush to find them, so you've got these greens and browns, kinda damp mossy and woody colours, then suddenly these bright spots of purple...

Weird looking thing, isn't it? Looks a bit like a brain. My imagination must be in overdrive today!

It always seems to me like i've found hidden treasure when I stumble on a 'shroom (or any kind of fungi). Very nice study.

Isn't it fun to spot these fungi on one's walk?
