MS Ovation of the Seas

Welcome to Summer here in Tauranga. Christmas has come and gone, we travelled nearly 4 hours up north to spend 2 days with my family, unfortunately the weather was pretty cruddy so we didn't get to take many photos. When we came back however things cleared up and it's been pretty hot here.

On on afternoon walk we walked down to Pilot Bay to see a new cruise ship - the MS Ovation of the Seas leave for it's next destination. It can hold up to 4,905 passengers, is 348 m in length and can travel at 22 knots. When we were watching it, we could see people on board look like the size of ants - the ship is so huge and so many rooms and decks on board.

I'd like to hear how your Christmas was and how your last few days has been :-)

Our holidays were quiet. We saw the Ovation of the Seas as it left Auckland a couple of days ago. It is a HUGE ship.

Wow -- that is a city on the sea! Gosh they have gotten so huge since the days when we took a few cruises.

We had a non-traditional Christmas as usual lately, since we're away from family. (We celebrated with them at our Thankksgiving shortly before we left Oregon). Enjoying our beautiful weather, even though it is winter in our country, Florida is semi-tropical so our weather at Christmas is more like yours than like the rest of our country).
