A walk along Mount Maunganui beach

It's still hot hot hot here so this morning the other half and I decided to go for a walk along Mount Maunganui beach as we've gotten a bit lazy recently. This was at the quiet part - quite a few people around, some swimming some walking with their dogs.

This was at the busy end where people were congregated around some event that was happening, not sure what it was but the junior lifeguards were running in and out of the water. By the time we walked off the beach, through the shops and back home again it took us about an hour and 30 minutes. Lucky there's been a good breeze otherwise we would've been sweltering but I do think I'm a bit over Summer now, can't wait for some cooler temperatures :-)

It looks like a nice walk. We are planning on a beach vacation this year to get some sand between our toes.

I would love to live so close to the beach - maybe someday! I'm so over winter, that I'd take your hot summer days in a heartbeat!

It has been hot, hasn't it? You are lucky to have access to a lovely beach. Love that second shot, it tells the story perfectly.

I like the heat, and have been enjoying this summer more than most. That is one crowded beach for New Zealand.

The end of the season, whether hot summer or cold winter, can seem very long! But a beautiful beach like that has to make the hot weather more bearable!

For me the beach is such a beautiful sight. It is snow here.
