Finally - I caught the moon!

Monday night I heard there was to be a blood moon in the sky, we weren't sure of the times so before I went to bed I fiddled around with my camera settings, something I haven't been able to work out before and managed to get the shutter speed down to a good level while experimenting with taking photos. Finally got this one which I think is pretty good - what do you think? It's not a blood moon but it is full and round...

Nice and clear.

Nice! The moon is tricky to photograph because it is so bright and the background is black. Manual mode. I recommend a tripod. We had an eclipse here, but it was completely obscured by clouds :-(

Great capture. Glad you didn't have as much cloud cover as we did.

You got it! And beautifully. Every once in awhile I get a decent night shot, but it is by accident. I can never figure out why one turns out and the next one doesn't.
